The First “Farm to You” Tobacco Product in Canada
NORTH SHORE TOBACCO and its subsidiaries had the intent to create a premium cigarette with 100% Canadian content at a fair price.
The motivation of the company founders to undertake this effort was due to a declining state of the tobacco industry in Canada. The founders were a group of tobacco farmers who shared the same feelings about the crisis. They felt they cound not rely on the future of tobacco farming under current conditions, so they invested their own money to creat a tobacco product superior to any currently available.
Work began slowly to create a cigarette made as they used to be years ago, with no expanded tobacco, imports, additives or fillers. In the summer of 2008, our first cigarette, NORTHFIELD, was launched for sale in Ontario. Support was received from all levels of government, local retailers and consumers because we were providing a truly "All Canadian" cigarette.
Time spend to develop the product was well worth the effor and support has been expressed throughout the Trade and with adult consumers. Our company plants to expand with additional brand.
